How to Apply


Applications Deadline for receipt of the completed application is June 30, 2020.

COVID-19 Info: Application deadline has been extended to provide support for disruptions due to the pandemic.

Selection Procedure Completed applications will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of group leaders of IRIBHM.

Interviews The short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview. Due to the rapidly evolving situation of COVID-19, interviews might be held via teleconferencing. Full details will be sent to invited candidates. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and free accommodation is provided.

Admission Offers of admission will be made to the successful candidates shortly after the interview period.

Start PHD Students must start their research from November 1st, 2020.

Language The program language is English.


Please note that only diplomas and degrees equivalent to EU Master’s degree awarded by a Higher Education Institution are acceptable, which include project work summarised in a written “small thesis”. Candidates who have not yet obtained their degree will be considered if they can convincingly argue that they will finish their studies within 2020 academic year.

Please note that this program is restricted to non-Belgians, currently not living in Belgium. Applicants must have obtained an academic degree or diploma (see above) for maximum 5 years and this period shall include the ongoing academic year.
